In addition to being a liberal troublemaker on line, I believe that many of you also know that I have worked with The United Way in Winona for many years.   I'm hoping that our moderators don't consider this spam, but it is an unadulterated sales message.   United Way needs you help in two ways.  Please give a gift to our annual campaign...receipts are slow in coming in this year and given state budget cuts we need to make goal.  Call 452-4624 if you have questions about how to give.  Please also visit one of The Giving Trees at any Wells Fargo Bank, Severson Conoco Food Plus, or The Winona Public Library.  We have folks in town who won't get anything for Christmas unless we step up to the plate.  One older woman asked for a gallon of white paint and a bag of cat food...a 14 year old girl is asking for a coat and some shoes...how can we turn away?  Even in less extreme situations, anybody should be able to ask Santa for a little something...and Santa shouldn't say 'no.'   Merry Christmas...Happy Hannukah...Joyous Eid...let us come together as a community and care for each other during this most holy of seasons.   Bob Sebo Winona
