[Winona Online Democracy] As a result of the discriminatory policy of the Boy Scouts of America, we started to give to the United Way and have stopped giving to the Boy Scouts (although our son has been one--we supported the troop because the leaders have not expressed prejudice or discrimination).
I supported the Winona United Way's action several years ago when the organization temporarily dropped funding for the Boy Scouts. If the leaders have reached an amicable agreement, that is good enough for me. I have told the Boy Scouts of America that we will not send money to them until they change their policy of discrimination against GLBT people. Good work, Bob.
