I think your comparisons to interracial marriage and the ban on them is a valid one. The US Supreme Court has outlawed them. Loving v. Virginia, 388 U.S. 1 (1967). An interesting point to Loving if memory serves is that the court not only stuck down as Unconstitutional laws against interracial marriage, they also struck down a provision of the Virginia law that attempted to block people from traveling to another rustication, as the Lovings did, being married there and then returning to Virginia as a married couple.
If precedent means anything, the same reasoning should apply to any gay couple that travels to Mass. to be married and then returns to their home state and attempts to live as a married couple.
Should be an interesting Summer.
