[Winona Online Democracy]
Winona Friends,I have been asked to speak at a state conference for housing and redevelopment officials on big box development. My background is city planning and zoning, so I will speak to the ways that cities can develop site planning guidelines, zoning standards, architectural controls, etc. to make the development more palatable, but I am not an expert on the larger questions of economic impacts, social impacts, etc. From the voluminous discussion in Winona on the new Wal Mart, are there people you might recommend who can speak to these issues and bring some good information and insight to these local officials as they wrestle with big box stores? Any names and ideas you could pass along would be welcome.Phil Carlson, Mpls_______________________________________________ This message was posted to Winona Online Democracy All messages must be signed by the senders actual name.
