[Winona Online Democracy]
As noted by Dick Gaffron in his posting, the drug
companies refuse to consider selling to US pharmacies at the same price as they
do in Canada and Mexico.
To make matters worse, in the new Medicare Law, the
government actually wrote into the law that the Medicare
program CANNOT negotiate with the drug companies for better prices for
medications used by the Medicare recipient.
The Veterans Administration is able to get more
reasonable prices for drugs for our Veterans through negotiation with drug
companies and they should. That is great. However, the Federal
Government negotiated away their right to get the same type of lower
costs for older Americans.
That is just one of the things
that must be changed before 2006.
