I have attached the results of the test scores for our area as published in the St. Paul paper. Yes some will see some improvement but compared to other in our region we are failing. Congratulations Ridgeway parents for taking ownership in their school and being engaged with their kids.
Isn't it time to quit wasting board time and money keeping buildings open when more teaching resources are needed in the classroom? A parent from a district approach me on why wouldn't her district, Arcadia, hold back her son because he was failing. She wanted it for his own good. The district refused. It would be interesting to see the data for the last five years in how many kids in WAPS are held back by grade or is the past practice of moving them on to the next grade still the practice? When will we quit using the self esteem crap and start help kids who need the reinforcement of repeating a grade? Paul Double
