[Winona Online Democracy] Today's StarTribune has an article about our Street Dept's park at the city garage. It was mostly completed about a month ago, although one edge of the lawn needs work due to a rail siding that has since been dug up and removed. It contains seven new trees, two of which are fairly good size oaks.
Closer to my home, a house, (West 3rd and Harriet) recently converted to rental, has been landscaped by Winona Nursery. The landlords are Judy (of Lee-Ann Estate Sales) and her husband. This is a refreshing change from the trend towards using our area's lawns for parking and junk storage. Now if only the city and owners of property in the West 2nd and Huff / Riverview Drive vicinity could follow suit, our "back door" entrance to downtown won't have such a hard scrabble look to it. _______________________________________________ This message was posted to Winona Online Democracy All messages must be signed by the senders actual name.
