Title: Virtual Candidate Forums
Today we should have posts from candidates for mayor and city
council and tomorrow school board.
Below are the ground rules we set out in asking their
participation
In
conjunction with the public forums we are planning with the League of
Women Voters, we'd like to invite you to participate in a virtual
on-line forum. With the League, we will develop a broad
question on an important public issue to be discussed in your
forum. We will send you that question 5 days before the live
forum. The n, we will invite you to post your views on the
subject on WOD by 8 a.m. 3 days prior to your forum.
From the
candidate statements, subscribers could ask further questions relevant
to the topic, make observations of their own, and you can respond in
any appropriate way.
The question we'd like Mayor and Council
candidates to respond to is:
When
it comes to city growth and development, is bigger the same thing as
better? What is your long range view, say 10-20 years out, on
boundaries of City of Winona and how the county and
townships are involved in any possible
changes?
The question we'd WAPS candidates to
respond to is:
How do you see schools
changing in the next 2 to 5 to 10 years and how can WAPS achieve
broad based support from the community( including seniors and others
living on low incomes)?
We look foward to your participation.. Randy
Schenkat
ps two candidates so far have asked me to post their
response.. posts from Paul Double and Dave Kouba will
follow...
