Title: Virtual Debate- David Kouba
There are
areas within our present borders of Winona that are in need of
development. We have streets in our city that still do not have
curb and gutters. We are still in need of a railroad overpass on
the east side of town. We have land in the former Winona
Township, now part of Winona City, that could be developed. We
can improve our way of life and still remain the same size. So
bigger is not always better, sometimes bigger also means bigger
problems.
My long
range view on the boundries of the City of Winona are this.
I see a gradual development up Highway 43 towards
Wilson.
However, I
oppose leap-frog development. I favor an orderly development
process in cooperation with the other townships. Some of our
smaller valleys should only have limited development and other areas
with streams and difficult terrain should remain in a natural
state.
Only with
full cooperation with the County and the Township can we determine who
can serve their citizens best.
Thank
you,
David
Kouba
