Tom,
Regarding the High School students and teachers' opposition to this crazy
plan...
This is NOT a simple or mere NIMBY ("not in my back yard") objection to
having the Administration come to the High School.
Not at all.
If allowed to have a say in this process, I bet the High School Principals,
staff, and (gosh forbid) the students could come up with 1-2 other
alternatives to re-locate the Adminstration to the High School that would
work better for everyone involved.
(Except maybe the Supt.'s and School Board's lake and bluff view windows.)
;->
Matter of fact, if you look at the plan, the administration is very
secluded from the students and staff. They have their own parking lot,
bathrooms, lunch rooms, and other things that would naturally lead them to
actually see and interact with students.
Wouldn't it be better to have them park where the rest of us park, have
them walk in through the same doors we do, and eat where we and the
students do?
Why this whole thing is being rushed so fast is hard to understand.
I know the School Board has terrible choices to make and I respect them for
that, but this decision should be a no-brainer if they listen to the
students and staff who actually live and work at the High School.
