[Winona Online Democracy] The members of the school board are the most dedicated public servants that I can imagine. I would not want their jobs for an instant. I respect them all.
The reason that I "launched" earlier is because I am very interested in architectural preservation...most of you know I'm heritage preservation chair...and the Senior High is a real nice building...I hate to see it messed with. I knew the odds on favorite was administration moving to WSHS when the Lincoln building needed to be vacated....but I did not expect it to be so extensively altered to accomodate the new tennant. I just dislike this outcome greatly...there must be other options. Again, I mean no disrespect to the authors of these recommendations. I thank you for your efforts. But we can't do this. In fewer than twenty years this building could be on the National Register of Historic Places...it's an awesome late 60's building...famous architect...great location...why destroy a potential legacy for an immediate need?
