[Winona Online Democracy] To reply to Terri Hyle's question...
As far as I know, the buttons have not caused a disruption in the classrooms at school. Maybe I'm wrong but I have not heard about that happening. The problem thus far has been with a few (female) staff members being offended by the button. If however Carrie and between 60-90 students wear t-shirts on the same day with the same message in large letters, that could very well cause disruptions that day and afterwards. Especially if the media is there. Again, it's a very tough issue. It's important to get a clear direction from our School Board and Superintendent on this issue. It's one of those darned if you do and darned if you don't situations for High School staff. I think it's important to know what the School Board would like done and to have staff supported in what it is asked to carry out. A clear message would be very helpful.
