This is probably irrelevant to Wilson Township issues, but I can't resist
sharing:

Back in the 70's I worked a while for a entrepreneur that had been thwarted
in his attempt to build a housing development in the mountains above
Boulder, Colorado by his inability to secure well water and septic system
permits. So he founded a company to develop a closed loop water recycling
system. The goal was a system transparent to the occupants who would use it
the same as if they had conventional water and sewer hook-ups.

We did get it to work in some prototype installations. It had a large
storage tank for the initial and subsequent recycled water supply. The
treatment end was essentially similar to a municipal treatment plant but
with sensors monitored by microprocessors with some additional filtration
and ultra-violet sterilization. The system fell short of being transparent
the user in that they had to be more careful as to what was poured down the
drain and gradually water was lost due to evaporation while cooking or
showering. Unless you collected rainwater or brought home lots of beer, you
would have to occasionally top off the reservoir with delivered water.

The company wasn't able to make a go of it since anticipated water shortages
in the Southwest never became enough of a hindrance to building housing
developments. This was all before the Jonestown, Guyana massacre, so the
term "drinking the company Kool-Aid" hadn't entered the workplace lexicon.
