[Winona Online Democracy]
The city of Winona has ammended its Human Rights'
Ordinance to include all state and federally recognized protected classes, which
extends housing protections to GLBT people.
I remember the last time the council was asked by
the Human Rights Commission to include sexual orientation in the ordinance they
declined. I was in the room that night, and I remember the odor of
homophobia. I'm just curious...are Winonans more tolerant today? I
notice that "the love that dare not speak its name" (LOL...old, old quotation)
is still not named in the ordinance.
Just curious if anyone had any
thoughts.
