Not buying gas for one day is a token gesture that demonstrates one fact: people won't do it. The few who do boycott one day will buy gas the day after. How silly. If we want to make a real difference, we will change our lifestyle as best we can to stop using so much darned gas. Why can't the USA import certain cars made in Europe, such as the Volkswagen Lupo which gets about 70 miles per gallon of diesel?

New Jail? There's another issue. Has anyone looked deep into the issue to ask why we need more jail space? Who are we jailing and why? I would suggest Dennis Challeen's book, "Winning at Losing" (ISBN 0-9749018-0-6) for insight.
