I,too,like Bob Sebo, am an old
man,but that does not excuse us from making hasty, and often bad,
decisions In my humble opinion
it would be wrong to further encourage more traffic
to Huff Street. We sorely need a city-wide plan to expedite traffic, not only
intra-city
but through town in an expeditious manner. Traffic
from #43 south should be able to reach the interstate bridge without going
thru
downtown and traffic from Wisconsin should be able
to go east or west to #61 without the downtown loops..
Do we need an underpass? Of course we
do! I would agree we need a pedestrian underpass at Huff or in
that vicinity, but would we
not be better served by locating it on
Mankato for vehicular traffic? I don't relish the idea of
sacrificing two or mor blocks of business
and industry on Huff to build an underpass on a
street that goes nowhere and that already allows only limited
usage.
