[Winona Online Democracy] As long as the education pot is already stirred up, anyone read the Newsweek article on how boys are doing poorly in school compared to girls? Part of the article has been on the Net, with a link to it from MSN today.
I have noticed in my model airplane classes that girls seem to be at least as interested, often need less help, and do neater work than boys. There interest only goes about so far, and I doubt any would continue on. The Girl Scouts have been doing a large amount of radio advertising to address the issue of girls giving up on science at a certain age.
