Good Morning America has been highlighting, this week, the growth of out sourcing in India in everything from Credit Card Processing, Technical Support for Computers, Bill Collection, and Tutoring kids on line just to name a few things. But some things this morning made some interesting comparisons. 1) In providing technical support for 35 year old Americans they need to deal with them the same 10 year olds in India. 2) In providing tutoring for U.S. kids it is observed that their education comparison is three grade levels lower than India's kids. 3) The trend to outsource surgery with a real example of a person who did not have insurance needing open heart surgery quoted in the US at $120,000 but electing to go to India. His total cost including companion travel $20,000 using a top quality medical center. The also noted that open heart surgery for infants was $3000 in India and was now performed on a regular basis with state of the art procedures. When will the beaches of the world become the senior nursing homes of the future? Review the benefit rates from long term health insurance or billing charges for these services in Minnesota and will the warm weather, professional staff, low air fares, world prices on prescription drugs, digital internet camera's to watch, talk and listen for daily family communication and lots of lower cost care givers provide a better alternative in the future.
