You’re not sorry Bob.  Once again, your negative and pessimistic attitude had to be spoken out loud.  The board certainly is paying for it.  These people pay taxes just as you and I do and in addition they have a “charge” to oversee a huge community asset.  Our public schools!!  I know and they know they aren’t perfect.  However just as democracy isn’t perfect, it is the best form of government in the world and our public schools are the line in the sand between us retaining our way of life and losing it.  Educate, educate, educate should be our mantra.  The second mantra should be get involved, get involved, get involved and not just sit back in an arm chair and cast stones and spread rumors as facts.
