[Winona Online Democracy]

I believe Terri is one of those people who has been bulldozed and fooled and has
not concept of the money that goes out vs the money that goes in. I remember
the first year all the articles about the money Shakespeare brought into the
downtown businesses. I own a business downtown. I thought I had missed the
boat, I walked up and down Third and Second street and talked to many
businesses. Lo and behold, the only one who felt their business was boosted
somewhat was the coffee house.

Go figure, Shakespeare is on weekends in the evenings, most downtown businesses
are not open. Saturday and Sunday afternoons? Talk to the businesses it ain't
happening. Where the media got their information who knows? Why? who knows?
Truthful, not alot of it. The number of sold tickets vs "give aways" is
unbelievable as well. Sell outs or full seats - two very different situations.
Tax payers and businesses are starting to get it. Janice Turek
