[Winona Online Democracy]
Thank you, Janice, for your very kind personal remark directed towards me.
It has been received and noted with the spirit in which it was posted on
this forum.
I asked a question as to whether there had been an economic study conducted.
Not one single person responded that there had been or cited the study.
Instead, a lot of factoids have been tossed around, with no source attached,
and a very lovely personal comment about me to top off the general tone of
the posts.
I will ask again, if there has been a study conducted (and published). If
there has been such a study, could someone please post where this study
could be accessed?
I am surprised if the presence of the GRSF has drained money that would
otherwise have supported arts in Winona. I recently received my Page series
(from St. Mary's University) brochure for the upcoming season, and it looks
to be very good. I know that Home and Community Options is doing their
annual event. I know that concerts are still being performed in the
community. Could someone please tell me what organizations have lost funds
due to the GRSF?
Please note that while I am a fan of theater, and Shakespeare in general, my
questions are posed in all seriousness. I am glad to have all the arts we
have in Winona and would gladly welcome and support more. But I am not
oblivious to cost/benefit of any enterprise, even those I really enjoy.
