--> Excellent points. "An orderly but open process" is an excellent way to
approach the symptons of the issue. It also puts you at odds with most of
the Republican and Democratic Parties, right?

want to learn English, it just takes awhile, especially for older adults.
The older you are, the harder it is to learn a second language. In the
meantime, the Spanish language and Hispanic culture gives far more to
America than it takes away.

Could the solution be as simple as re-visiting our immigration process and
laws? While the discussion evokes the passions of most on both side of the
issue how many have visited the laws for obtaining a visa to work, go to
school or just visit the U.S.. Could it be the process is out of step with
our employment needs creating artificial obstacles that do more damage by
fostering "illegal immigration" than would occur if the process was open but
orderly, legal but controlled, friendly but structured?
Have the legal immigration laws changed from 50 or 100 years ago shutting
the door that was open then? Why can't or haven't the temporary employment
companies like Manpower, Express and Kelly set up hiring centers in other
countries for unskilled labor, to offer work Visa's and to teach language
skill and to promote the same? They could as the employer. Why haven't the
trade unions stepped forward as well?
What is it in the process that changes an opportunity for U.S. employers to
have an abundant legal labor force into a desire to encourage people to
break the law? Could the source of the problem be congress, trade unions and
what laws would need to change to create a legal orderly process using work
Visa's (Green Cards) that for some reason is broken?
If I, as an employer, needed unskilled labor could I simple put an ad in a
foreign paper and what paper work would I need to do to initiate a work visa
for that person? Have we created a paper nightmare that further creates
obstacles rather than solutions? If my church wants to sponsor a family and
agrees that for five years to accept the entire financial obligation to
enable them to work legal, learn English, learn our history and culture and
become U.S. citizens is it even possible???
