REP. DRAZKOWSKI INVITES PUBLIC TO "GREEN ACRES' PROPERTY TAX MEETING
~Forum will feature policy makers and officials working for a solution~

ST. PAUL - State Representative Steve Drazkowski (R-Wabasha) today announced an
open town meeting for area farmers and land owners to discuss recent issues
related to the Green Acres tax program.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, at the City Hall in
St. Charles. Drazkowski is expected to be joined by tax officials from the
Minnesota Department of Revenue and local officials who have been invited to
the meeting.

A small change in law passed in 2008 has resulted in large and unexpected
property tax consequences for farmers and land owners throughout southeastern
Minnesota. Drazkowski said the meeting will give policy makers and affected
land owners the opportunity to share information and work out ideas for a
solution.

The City Hall is located at 830 Whitewater Avenue in St. Charles.
