Hello ! Much thanks for your answer!
Since I have Server 2008, my knowledge is - sad to say - not on top :-( A "net start ..." tells me, that the driver is "already running" ...! So the driver is surely signed [BTW:A great thing for Open Source!!!]. So, I seem to not understand the parts of the problems ;-) In Wireshark, I made the very wrong assumption, "to see winpcap" somewhere, but I consider this now as my last bullsh.... On the other hand:I have "NetworkMiner" [hosted on SourceForge], which watches for my network and inside this program, I can select "Winpcap" like a network interface [what I originally have expected] and it captures really fine. So I have no idea, whats happening. Looks like, I am missing some knowledge .... But the sample, I tried from ShapPacp, looks very simple .... [I tried the same on my 32 bit debian, but it eben there, it does not work, because it misses a DLL]. Any tips, hints or pointer to further information would be very great for me!! br++mabra -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Gianluca Varenni Sent: Monday, December 06, 2010 10:01 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Winpcap-users] Winpcap 4.1.2 on Server 2008 R2 (x64) The WinPcap driver is signed and should load no problem on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine. What happens if you try "net start npf" from a command prompt? I want to use SharpPcap - so the underlying WinPcap - on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine. I installed it successfully, but it looks not working. Regard, all "R2" versions exists as x64 versions only and additionally, on the server, there is no way to use an unsigned driver. Wether my testprogram nor Wirheshark x64 version offer me to capture packets from the driver. I think, the reason is, the driver is not loaded, because it is not signed. I found no clean statement on this problem in the docs and in the mailing list. Is possibly someone able to point this out exactly? Thanks a lot! br++mabra _______________________________________________ Winpcap-users mailing list [email protected] https://www.winpcap.org/mailman/listinfo/winpcap-users _______________________________________________ Winpcap-users mailing list [email protected] https://www.winpcap.org/mailman/listinfo/winpcap-users _______________________________________________ Winpcap-users mailing list [email protected] https://www.winpcap.org/mailman/listinfo/winpcap-users
