Hello winpcap-users,
First of all, the system that i use is Windows 2000 Professional
(SP2), and cygwin and/or lccwin32 as my major development tool.
I am having some problems using WinPCap 3.0 alpha i've just got
from your resource site.
I've installed WinPcap_3_0_a.exe package and i had no problems
using my old programs that were built for version 2.3. I mean,
all the drivers and dlls were successfully replaced and i felt
no problem with them.
But when i tried to apply WPdpack_3_0_a.zip package, i got the
following trouble:
i suppose, both the 'libpacket.a' and 'Packet.lib' (i applied
the first with cygwin and the second with lccwin32) files
supplied with the package (i mean import libraries) seems to
look like they are corrupted or something...
When i was trying to apply these import libraries with my source
files, i got my result binary (.exe) files lack of any link to
'packet.dll'; i've tried to browse thru these import libraries
(both by my hands and by my tools) and i didn't notice any link
to 'packet.dll'... I've tried to recompile their sources (from
WPcapSrc_3_0_a.zip) and i still see these weird things...
Yes, all my programs that i try to rebuild with these new
(corrupted?) libraries are quitting and leading out nothing
after i launch them... :((( (looks like it is failed with
loading a dll or something)
Well, when i picked the same (logically :) files from
/wpcapsrc/Packet9x/DLL/Project, building them with cygwin (with
an enumerous amount of warnings, by the way), all thing were
done well! Yes, i've replaced libpacket.a with the result
Packet.a, and my programs started to get built right! But with a
huge number of warnings (different minor type conflicts, etc)...
Is that a trick against script kiddies and/or kewl hax0rs? is
that a bug or something? I'm a newbie in programming and not
sure i'll succeed digging thru your sources. Would you please
help me?
Awaiting for an answer...
Sorry for my speech, english isn't my native :)
