Which file is called the packet driver? I'm trying to get Triangle Boy,
obtained from http://www.SafeWeb.com/tboy_voa/tboyinstallerWin.exe/, running.
I think the Triangle-Boy installation package is supposed to include the
installation of WinPcap as well. But after installing Triangle Boy and
looking into my computer's application log (recent history), I found the
message "packet driver not installed." Neither packet.sys nor packet.dll
were found on my computer. So I uninstalled the Triangle-Boy package and
then reinstalled it on my computer. Next I installed WinPcap 3.0 alpha,
obtained from http://WinPcap.Polito.it/, on my computer. Then I found the
file packet.dll in C:\WINDOWS\system32, but the file packet.sys nowhere on my
computer's hard drive. Then trying to run Triangle Boy I found the same
error "packet driver not installed." From the following text within the
description section of http://WinPcap.Polito.it/ I have the impression that
the driver file is a file different from packet.dll:

"WinPcap is an architecture for packet capture and network analysis for the
Win32 platforms. It includes a kernel-level packet filter, a low-level
dynamic link library (packet.dll), and a high-level and system-independent
library (wpcap.dll, based on libpcap version 0.6.2).

The packet filter is a device driver..."

Is my thinking correct? (The following covers my further questions for both
the yes and no possible answers to this question.) If so, what is the name
of the packet driver file and why didn't my computer recognize that this file
had been installed on my computer after I installed WinPcap 3.0 alpha on my
computer? But if not and packet.dll is the driver file, why does my
computer inform me that the packet driver has not been installed on my
computer, even though I found packet.dll on my computer?

The basic questions here involving WinPcap are for WinPcap users. But if
anyone has had experience with Triangle Boy and can tell me how to get it
fully working, I would, of course, appreciate that knowledge and/or wisdom.

Sorry, if my questions trouble anyone; but thanks in advance for your help.
