We use Siteplanner from Wireless Valley for all our building designs on campus. Before completing the actual design a site survey is performed to determine building makeup _ (i.e. concrete, drywall, other wireless APs etc.)
http://www.oit.umd.edu/nts/noc/techinfo.html The link above shows some of the designs that have been completed. This software is COMPLETELY accurate. I wouldn't do it any other way. Has it been basically a couple access points and some laptops? Or have you gone ahead and hired consultants/suppliers to come in and do your site survey? Has anyone used any particular software to do complete campus plans? I have looked at Wireless Valley's LANPLanner software (uses autocad drawings of your buildings and site survey readings to recommend access point placement) briefly, and am wondering if anyone has any experience with it or something similar. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
