We are at the very
beginning stages of looking at installing a wireless networks for our
students. We are an urban commuter campus consisting of a single building
with 6 floors, of which we occupy 4 of them. My department consists of
myself (Director), a database administrator, and a help desk analyst. Our
network administration is outsourced to a consultant.
We have a domain
that computers in our library and lab belong to that is separate from our domain
for faculty and staff. The student domain only has access to the
internet.
My question as we
move forward is how much support does a wireless network need in order to
maintain it's uptime? Is it feasible to think that we can continue to
outsource our network administration after we add a wireless
infrastructure?
