Bruce,

Google "laser wireless networks".  We have a couple of links where we use
laser heads to connect a couple of buildings across the street from campus.
They''ve been working great for about 10 years now.  They are expensive!
You should be able to use a lowered powered laser which will save on costs.
Fog, snow, etc. can affect their performance.  You could use a laser link as
your main link with the 1300 bridge link as a failover.  Our links are 100M.
You can purchase ones that'll do a gig.

We are currently using a pair of Cisco 1300 wireless bridges to connect some student residences to the campus network.  While these bridges have worked well we now need something which is capable of a higher speed connection without using multiple links.  The current distance between the two antennas is about 300 feet.  I was wondering what products others have used and how they performed.

Thank you
