Yes. We use the "disassociate" and "associate" SNMP traps to monitor if
the APs go up/down. However, the trap does not give much information as
to the reason why the AP went down. Normally, if there is a bug in the
code (which we have encounter) then a log should be generated by the AP.

Has anyone using Airespace (now Cisco) done anything with CiscoWorks or
external SNMP network monitoring that has worked out- like for basic
device up/down, traps, alarms, etc. for the controllers? In this model,
without going directly to WCS and controllers, how are you getting info
on AP status- can the controllers send effective traps for AP trouble?
