I'm reticent to quote Unstrung too quickly, but beyond what I learned via an
interview I should substantiate my statement:
"Under Terabeam, Proxim has shifted its focus from wireless LAN equipment --
a market dominated by Cisco -- to mesh networks and WiMax equipment."

I have no information to suggest that they are abandoning their installed
base, just that they are re-focusing.

Interesting. That wasn't the impression I got a few months ago when talking
with the Proxim rep. I wouldn't be surprised though. I'm heavily invested
in Proxim product right now and was thinking we would just continue using
the AP4000 series to finish my build-out (which will double the number of
APs to about 1000). But if they really are abandoning the indoor products,
then I need to keep that in mind.

Are you looking to buy new? Proxim has refocused their company onto outdoor

Does anyone have experience with this product from Proxim?
