We tested one 1142 AP with 5.2.157. The AP can find the controller but failed to download the image with console error:
%Error opening lwapp:/c1140 (Protocol error) TAC told me to reload the 5.2.157 code on controller. But I just unplugged the cable to the AP and plugged it back. Then the AP downloaded the code successfully. I haven't got more 1142 APs to test. Not sure if this is the same bug which Hector mentioned. The one gotcha we found was the discovery process. If you are running versions below 5.2.178.0, the discovery of new APs won’t work unless you configure the APs manually. We ran into this issue when testing the new 1140s. After upgrading to 5.2.178, everything worked fine. Haven’t run into any other issues, yet. I also notice that the new 1140s MUST run CAPWAP, and so 5.2 code is mandatory for 1140 support (maybe I knew that before, now that I write that). This one is new to me, and interesting: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/controller/5.2/configuration/guide/c52lwap.html#wp1104685 -Lee ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/. ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/. ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
