Hi Joe,
I am a Brocade customer that employs the mobility series wireless
system which Meru OEMs for Brocade. I currently have 236 access points
in my network controlled by 3 controllers in a N+1 architecture. All
of my access points are dual radio. The BG radios are all on channel 6
and the A radios are on channel 36. I have approximately 100 "N"
radios which operate on channel 40. This was not by design but more
than likely by default. In my opinion, this system is marvelous. I
hate to say it, but it just seems to work. We love the virtual cell
technology because we do not have to plan coverage areas. If we need
more coverage, we just put in an access point - that's it. In most
cases Brocade works directly with Meru to solve any issues I may
encounter. Meru's support is top notch as well. Additionally, we are
located in the city of Lancaster. We have many neighbors with wireless
systems and it does not cause us any issues (such as the ones we
experienced with our legacy systems). Regarding our students and rogue
access points, we'll be rolling out the rogue identification and
mitigation portion of the system software this summer. Please feel
free to contact me directly if you any questions or would like to see
my system.
