Hello Are Cisco LWAPP institutions using the HREAP feature?
We are contemplating employing central authentication/local switching for 1 802.1x TTLS/AES/TKIP SSID, and locally switching 1 WPAPSK SSID and 1 SSID without encryption or L2 authentication. We currently have 300 1240 APs in several buildings connected by gigabit campus WAN, with the prospect of several hundred additional APs. The reason for using HREAP would be to centralize the controllers without seriously impacting the WAN.
My concerns are that HREAP is not designed for our purpose, that client roaming times may increase, that HREAP group constraints might defeat the purpose of centralizing the controllers.
Does anyone have experience using HREAP is a similar manner? Thanks in Advance David ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
