Rick, I've been a long time user of the Ekahau software. I recently was in the Beta test for the Software on the Android phone. According the website, it's a released project, so I assume I can at least acknowledge the product exists. :-) Works Awesome on my Droid Incredible, and I don't even have a finished product (Lots of the advanced final functionality was in a different Beta trial, I was just basic functionality testing (signal strength measurement))
The Ekahau has always recommended using a specific brands of wireless card (The CB21 wireless adaptor is one of them) because some built in wireless adaptors WILL not record noise, making any and all signal strength measures not valid. Ekahau also has they're own branded card as well which we purchased. Low and behold ALL of our new laptops only have Express cards (not PCMIA) so we can't use the card. But I checked the website tonight to verify the Android version, and what did I spy with my little eye? They now have a USB version of their card.
