We use it for ~2000 users and it has worked well. We use a 24 hour timeout as well. Running version 6.0.202 code on our version one WISM.

At peak time we see 5000+ authenticated MAC addresses across 12 wireless controllers (6 WiSM blades). We were thinking of implementing the web authentication using LDAP as a backup in the event that our NAC system fails. We would maybe do something like a 24 hour time-out. The idea is just to make sure that only campus affiliated users were connecting to our SSID.
