We have two separate SSIDs, one for guests and the other for active members of
the campus community.

The guest SSID is isolated from the rest of the campus network with interface
ACLs on the controllers as well as ACLs in our core and the only protocols
allowed are http and https.

Guests have to be sponsored by an active member of the community and accounts
are created by the Help Desk. Typically accounts are set to automatically
expire after 24 hours.

For large gatherings (meetings, conferences and alumni gatherings) a single
account is used. Accounts are managed via the Lobby Ambassador interface in the
Cisco WCS.

Subject: [WIRELESS-LAN] Visitor access

We are having a increasing number of parents and prospective students who are
visiting to tour the campus requesting access to our wireless network. I was
wondering what other schools are doing to accommodate these requests.

Thank you
