Internet access and campus resources such as web sites that are only available from public networks. It mimics a connection coming from ones personal ISP at home. If a Univeristy user wants to use the guest network and requires campus network access for printing, remote access, etc.. they will need to then use VPN.
There is no WEP or any other passcodes required to join the guest network. On Oct 14, 2011, at 4:02 PM, Craig Eyre wrote: Hi All, What type of access are you allowing for your visitors? We use Wifidog on a guest-only SSID; it allows for self-registration, and all connections coming from the guest VLAN are treated as "untrusted", as if they were coming in from the Internet at large. -- Matt Gracie (716) 888-8378 Information Security Administrator [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> Canisius College ITS Buffalo, NY http://www2.canisius.edu/~graciem/graciem_public_key.gpg ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/. ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/. ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/. ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
