Hello Everyone, Over the years people have mentioned what they are doing for authentication and what type of wireless equipment they are using, we are in the process of re-evaluating what we do here at DePaul for authentication and how often to force re-authentication. Currently we only DePaul affiliated faculty/staff/students or "sponsored" guests (meaning you have to get a guest username/passwd from someone at the university). We've considered changing on both do we provide guest access more like the starbucks/hotel experience and what to do with faculty/staff/students. Our current authentication system is a home grown "netreg" type system using a WPA2-PSK secured SSID, or a open non-encrypted SSID secured by having to use a vpn client.
Our support manager has put together a little survey: http://depaul.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_9GIWAmC071FAUcs and is hoping to get a good sampling of results. You may see it cross-posted other locations, so my apologies if you get this twice. We'll correlate all the information and return it back to the list to hopefully get a good summary of what everyone is doing! Thanks for your time in advance! (It should hopefully only take 2-3 minutes)...
