Hi Andy,

Thanks!! I plan to send out the summary results either the end of next week or
shortly after. So far pretty good responses and some interesting trends for
sure.. I'll leave it open until the end of next week for people that might be
not read the list every day.

I went ahead and took your survey. I'm really interested in the results as
well. Do you think you could share with the community?

Subject: [WIRELESS-LAN] Wireless Survey

Hello Everyone,

Over the years people have mentioned what they are doing for authentication and
what type of wireless equipment they are using, we are in the process of
re-evaluating what we do here at DePaul for authentication and how often to
force re-authentication. Currently we only DePaul affiliated
faculty/staff/students or "sponsored" guests (meaning you have to get a guest
username/passwd from someone at the university). We've considered changing on
both do we provide guest access more like the starbucks/hotel experience and
what to do with faculty/staff/students. Our current authentication system is a
home grown "netreg" type system using a WPA2-PSK secured SSID, or a open
non-encrypted SSID secured by having to use a vpn client.

Our support manager has put together a little survey:

http://depaul.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_9GIWAmC071FAUcs

and is hoping to get a good sampling of results. You may see it cross-posted
other locations, so my apologies if you get this twice. We'll correlate all
the information and return it back to the list to hopefully get a good summary
of what everyone is doing!

Thanks for your time in advance! (It should hopefully only take 2-3 minutes)...
