Sorry, what's the benefit of "not using eduroam for production .1X"? For us it is a key feature that the same wifi setup our people use here on campus will "just work" with absolutely no changes at any eduroam campus. (Of course, it does take some extra user training to get them to include the domain for their eduroam login but not for any other on-campus logins, but having a different production SSID wouldn't help any on that.)
