At TCU we use 3502E with directional antennas.
The ticket scanners are b/g only (rather old), so the A radios are turned off.
And set b/g 11Mbp and below to disabled, and 12Mbps mandatory.
The access points have only one hidden/WPA2/PSK SSID on them, which is
hard-coded in the scanners also.
The ip address of the ticket scanners is controlled by mac address/ip address
assignment on our DHCP server, so the scanners are just set for DHCP, but
always get the same address. We also set the SSID for no session timeout.
The access point antennas are pointed directly at where the ticket takers stand
for best coverage. Antenna type and placement angle is pretty crucial too.

This way, our ticketing system does not have to compete for bandwidth with
access points dedicated for Fac/staff/students or Fans.
And only the scanners WE allow, are able to access the system. They run a
pretty tight ship here.
Able to scan 50k+ fans at ten entrances, very quickly and efficiently. And
that's just our Stadium. We have several large venues.

Subject: [WIRELESS-LAN] T2 Ticketing System

Is anyone using T2 ticketing system with existing wireless network. We use
802.1x auth and the devices go to sleep and causes the ticketing officers
issues to reconnect. What other solutions has anyone come up with for these
devices?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Roger
