Jason, we have been considering the same approach. How did the number of previously installed hallway APs compare to the number of installed bedroom APs.

We made the move from hallways to bedroom as well with the 702W's that Cisco came out with. Being able to use the existing cable drop in bedrooms saved a lot of money and installation time. With the 702W having the wired ports still gives the students that option as well. We did leave a few 3702i's in the hallway just for Clean air. So far signal has not been an issue at all and students seem happy!!
