I did this many years ago and have helped tune these for hospitals
recently.

I am assuming you are talking about badges and not just the smartphone
integration.

You do need a very robust WiFi coverage to support Vocera - 5Ghz is the way
to go.

The real tuning is done at the badge configuration - Vocera allows you to
tune the roaming characteristics of the badges so that they only scan for
the channels you are using.

Vocera is really good about helping you tune - in fact they are pretty
demanding and won't take your word for it - they want to verify or run the
configs they know work.
