Stefano,

I'm currently using RedHat 7.2 on my notebook with a
Prism2 (Intersil) PCMCIA card but your setup should be
very similar and I believe your Lucent card is supported
as well.

Here is a link to the Linux Wireless LAN recources page
which I used to guid me though the setup of my card:
http://www.hpl.hp.com/personal/Jean_Tourrilhes/Linux/

It's pretty straight forward if you follow it step-by-step.
I believe I saw a package when I installed RedHat that
claimed to have wireless LAN support but I didn't try that.

Here a few things to check out before you start installing
the whole 9 yards ;)

First make sure that your system realized that you are
adding a PCMCIA card when you insert the card into the
notebook (look at the messages in /var/log/messages
after the card is inserted). You should see from the
log messages if the card is seen and if an appropriate
driver was found or not.

If the correct driver was found you will need to edit
/etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.opts to contain the correct settings
for you AP.

Hope that helps,

Mark
