Is it possible to buy off the shelf parts (radio shack, frys, internet, etc) and build a (very) low-end 802.11 transmitter? I'd like to use a pc and a transmitter to do some testing of wi-fi apps which i'm thinking of writing. I know i could just get a linksys product, but i want to do something a little cheaper, and perhaps eventually combine into a smaller form factor.
Have any good guides been written on this?
