I apologize in advance for the newbie question, but I'm hoping for some guidance on antenna selection. I'd like to establish a public access point for my neighbors and am trying to determine what antenna will perform the best in my situation. I've done a bit of research on the site, poked at the archives and have looked at Hyperlink, Superpass, etc. for info but don't feel like I have enough info to invest a few hundred bucks in an antenna setup.
I'm currently using an AP-2000 with the ORiNOCO "range extender," and that has difficulty reaching the edge of my property. I live in between the middle and 3/4 of the way from my neighbors -- 80% of my neighbors are covered in 180 degrees, 20% in the remaining 180 degrees -- the distance that has to be covered is 250-400FT. Unfortunately line of sight is nearly completely obstructed by trees and other foliage, but no other buildings, etc. are in the way.
