Gordon,

It is funny how when they can;t make $$ off of the unit, it is prohibited,
but when they can, the planes and the FAA somehow figure it is ok then!!
Like some magical evolution happens to the plane and viola! IT IS NOW OK!!
The airlines and FAA are the antithesis of change and adaptation for the
consumer good. They must be related to the local phone companies!!

I am surprised that JetBlue has n plans yet for WiFi in the plane. They are
so ahead of the big old boys club in the airline industry. Their DirecTV at
each seat would be greatly complimented by data access like WiFi. JetBlue
is so focused on the experience. I jsut wish they had a tad more legroom
for us 6'1" guys. Seat width and leather are just fine though.

I believe the GPS receiver only receives. I would think it would be a
bigger battery and unit to reach the satellites with a signal rather than
just triangulate the signals coming down from them.

WiFi both xmits and rx's. Wouldn't it be a good idea for WiFi cards to
start at low transmit power (FAA might not mind that as much) handshake for
those touchy places like a plane and then kick the wattage up a notch until
a satisfactory handshake was established?

Someone please correct me if I am wrong.
