Seeking the group's opinion on the following idea:
1. Ethernet into my laptop via the built-in NIC.
2. W2K Internet Connection Sharing enabled on that connection.
3. Orinoco Gold PC card in Ad-Hoc mode.
Will friends with PC cards in Ad Hoc mode be able to surf?
I haven't tried yet this, but it sounds good in theory. The idea came up
because the rooms at my grad school are wired, but only with one
convenient Ethernet port. I'm trying to avoid bringing in either a hub
or wireless AP to let others share the joy.
I've never successfully gotten ICS working, but I've at least one friend
who has, so I'm willing to try it.
