A commercial entity that doesn't charge for their code? Umm, no...we're
a non-profit organization (a group of volunteers) that wrote some code
STRICTLY for use by FREE Wireless networks. If you're a commercial
company, or a WISP... then "No" the code is not open source for you to
steal and use, and simply charge for the hard work that we have done if
that makes sense to you.

Maybe you might want to think of it as "Is it fair that someone charges
for access to the free BAWUG network?" How would you feel if you
created a free wireless network, and some commercial entity was charging
people money to access your free network? (i.e. Seattlewireless.com
charging people to use seattlewireless.net's network?) With none of
that money going back to the node owners, or the developers?

It's simply a condition of using the software. If you don't like it,
then write your own, but don't steal ours.

Yes, and that's what our intent is. GPL doesn't allow for that.

>That way the average open-node

Well most "average open-node" advocates aren't looking to help with
development, they're simply waiting for a finished product that they can
steal and use for their commercial efforts (i.e. RAINBOW PROJECT, local
WISP's, etc.)

Those developer's that do want to help, send me an E-mail with your
skills, qualifications, and experience... and we'll throw you onto a
development team.

Can you give me a url?
